Bunk question please.
My bunks were set up with about 1 1/2" "slop" total both sides just on the corner of the outermost step.
Go the same? Cheers, GFS |
Re: Bunk question please.
Your steps are between the bunks right? I've got about the same "slop" at the rear of the bunks but tight to the steps at the front. Seems to load straighter that way. Also installed 6' 2 x 6 bunks in front for forward hull support. They are about 3" on each side of the keel. Got the idea from this site. First Load aluminum...Richard
Hey Sandy, check the timing on your motor. I thought mine was correct but it was 3 degrees retarded. Brought it up to 20 BTDC as specified and gained more mid power and 300 rpm. |

Re: Bunk question please.
Thanks all!
Put em back where they were, on the inside of the outer step on the corner. Went thru a whole tube o TefGel. 53 " inside up front and 53 1/2" astern. All ss and Alum. I decided to try color matching the gelcoat repair on the keel where the front V support had scraped off a previous 5200 job. First attempt was lemon yellow. Second was a little better, but I thickened like bondo w/ cabosil. I had forgotten how badly I do bodywork. There will be no photo documentation of this. I sanded it back down today. I did a small batch of straight Gelcoat and did a small repair on the chine. Got a pretty good color match. Ole, 1 more weekend ok? :D Cheers, GFS |
