'77 Sceptre Hull Vents
Alright gents, I'm doing some mods on my 1977 Sceptre and wanted to get some opinions. I've glassed in the back vents and was wondering if there was any reason not to glass in the front vents....my boat was a I/O at conception and has been converted to outboard power. The only reason I glassed in the back vents was for a cleaner/ smoother looking line to the ole girl! Any idea, whether it be pros or cons, I'd like to hear.
Thanks |

I like the idea of having al that air vented, especially in the event that you ever did get a fuel leak of any kind. Seems to me it would keep the hull healthier over the long haul, as well.

Un- Glass the rear Vents. Use the Search Function and put in the word "Vents" or Click Here----------------> Side Vents

I found some smooth profile rear vents that are painted steel. They do not protrude from the side so they don't get bent either. Can't tell you how many plastic ones I've crushed over the years against docks, etc. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/e...1/P9300007.jpg |

Who makes these vents that you have on this boat. Did they come black? They would look good on my red hull Tsunami.

Re: '77 Sceptre Hull Vents
They are stainless steel. I primered them and then painted them black, like the originals on my '77 Sceptre. As for their origins, they were given to me by my friend Phil. Not sure where he got them. He is a member of CSC and may chime in. If not, I'll ask him.
