Hello all, I'm new to the site and I've been looking at seacrafts for a few weeks now and I found a 20ft potter built cc with a I/O 120hp merc. In good shape, I was thinking if I go this route of putting a yama F115 on the back. I'm only thinking the O/B would give me more room to fish off the back. would this be enough power? Is the 120 enough? Thanks for you input.

Welcome aboard, and yes the hp would be plenty. I ran a heavier Seafari 20 for years with a 115 and it ran perfect even with 4 or 5 people.

I run a 20' Seafari cuddy cabin, which is heavier than the center console, and I use a 90 hp Mercury Optimax. I frequently have 4 adults on board. No problem.

If you plan on flying across the water at 50 mph, though, you'll need more hp.

thanks for the input. was looking at a Hermco bracket for the back of it if I go with the O/B. Has anyone done this? How much work is needed to install one of these after pulling an I/O engine? Thanks again

Check out www.hermco.net
and give Don a call (he is owner of Hermco). He did my bracket and I was very pleased. Also use search function..you will find alot of info regarding brackets (pros and cons), closing in transom hole, replacing transom (from inside or outside) etc.
