Sticker Residue...

Seems like a silly question, but here goes. Anyone have a good solution for removing the adhesive residue left over from the removal of old registration stickers...

Tx!

I personally will use alcohol or thinner and then rinse it real well. Pour onto rag and wipe onto residue and scrub a little.

the thinner or maybe try spraying the residue with wd-40 and letting it soak into the residue. then it should wipe off.

Acetone will almost always work. It is the active ingredient in nail polish remover. We used to use it at WM to remove all sorts of adhesive residue. Xylene(sp?) is nasty stuff and requires neoprene gloves, if you're smart! Also, there is Tyolene (paint brush dry paint remover) and is even more aggressive to your skin.

Just be careful and get plenty of ventilation and NO open flames!

Yep. Fish oil in it does the trick.

3m general purpose adhesive cleaner is my prfeference, it's not hard on finishes at all but is very affective especially for older dried out vinyl emblems , stickers, glue because you can leave it on most surfaces without fear. I have also used it to remove many things it shouldn't be effective on but it seems to like to get under almost anything

I tried all of the above except Xylene to no avail. Go to an auto body jobber and get an eraser wheel. Magic. No more Slacker evidence...except for the driver.

Cheers,
