rotted wood in bilge
 
hey,
i have an 86' seacraft 20ft. The other day i pulled out rotton wood from the bilge area. my floor and transom is rock solid though. can anyone tell me what this wood could possibly be. thanks

You could be rotting from under platform area, from parking her bow down on a hill.... Not a pro like some of the other gents on here Just from my own personal experience with on of my other hulls I have been tinkering with for Quite sometime... I let on sit for a while TOTally the wrong way.

got any limber holes in the center stringer that someone forgot to seal up? what about the factory battery tray/pad?

the shelf the fuel tank sits on has been known to donate some wood to the bilge as well. :rolleyes:
