I dunno! Sounds like there is going to be a deal on a 2.5 mil. yacht with low milage! Say......1.2 or even less given the supersticious nature of mariners!

Who wants to buy a share of the CSC Gathering "Committee Boat and general gathering "Raft"?

Some corporate type probably said, "Lift it high so we can get a photo of the hull bottom".

As a former marina manager and dockmaster, my question is what IDIOT lifted the boat that high. Never, never lift the boat any higher than is absolutely necessary. Lifted properly, that boat would have fallen no more than 2' higher than the truck above the seawall, and if I had been doing it, more like 2" higher than the truck.

The rule of thumb when slinging or forking boats is always the same: Low and Slow. Low so they can't fall far; Slow so that when you hit the boat against something, there's minimal to no damage.

Welllll, not exactly. Probably up there with some rather "heady" rare art at $1.5 mil. plus staging and crew. A couple of the scenes from 'Titanic' problably cost less!!!

I was in Ft. Lauderdale buying parts and bs'n in a yard that shall remain nameless when they dropped a 140' to 160' on the travel lift. I've seen a couple heavy loads go down and seen a few forklifts go over. This was different. It fealt like a earthquake. I had to rub the drop ceiling dust out of my hair after I ran outside. I think I heard guys invent new curse words that day. I was outta there lickity split, well after a little gawking.
