Anchor Locker Mod?
Has anyone cut there fordeck so that you access the anchor from the deck, rather than the casting platform? Can it be done? Its a pain to try and get the anchor out with a dodger on the boat.
Thanks! Dean |
Re: Anchor Locker Mod?
The Seafari and Sceptre/Tsunami guys have had this problem since day 1, but the solution is simple . . . just do what we do and use a deck pipe for the line and mount the anchor on deck or on a bracket?! The roller bracket works great . . . anchor can be dropped almost immediately, which can be a big safety factor if you lose power at the wrong time! BTW, use a BIG hawse pipe, not the little 1" diameter ones, so you can quickly drop the line down into locker when retrieving anchor! Here are some ideas:

Re: Anchor Locker Mod?
I have considered copying SeaVees top hatch anchor setup in this way you can drop the anchor straight down and still keep the hatch from the casting deck.

Re: Anchor Locker Mod?
Here is a picture of the 23 SeaCraft Tournament CC. I just remembered seeing them a couple of years ago at the Miami boat show and thought they looked like the SeaVee hatch. I wonder who copied who.
