FloScan fuel mgmt/fuel usage gauge help
I'm planning on installing a FloScan fuel management gauge/system on my Tsunami I'O 5.7 350 Mercruiser, and have a couple questions.
I don't want to break the bank,so I've decided to go with their Cruisemaster series which is the needle gauge and a digital read of gallons used.Prices are anywhere from $255.00 to $290.00 depending on the retailer. I've been told by most that the Floscan is the best unit out there.I have a Northstar sonar that is smart craft capable but I'd rather have a stand alone unit. Is there anything special that I need to order separately in addition to the unit itself?? I know I'll need wiring and some fuel line fittings, anything else? Anyone run the same unit, and are you happy with it?Any recommendations on the best place to buy.Hogdes Marine Electronics has the best pricing, but I'm not familiar with them. Any other info is also appreciated. This is the unit I'm looking at.Thanks all. http://www.floscan.com/html/blue/ser...ail.php?sid=11 |
Re: FloScan fuel mgmt/fuel usage gauge help
I have the same one. Just make sure you get the right flow sensor for your motor.
Mine came with the boat and when it worked, it was great, but it did not often work. I figured it must be the flow sensor, which I replaced last month. First trip after replacement it said I burned 15.8 gal, went to the station to fill up... 15.8 gal. It is a great thing to have on the boat. |

I have a couple of the Lowrance fuel flow units on my club boats. They have worked flawlessly for the time that I have had them...

Their website has a tool to figure out what you need for which motor.
I have also called them and they are very helpful. Mine is going in this week and it needed a newer flow sensor. |
