Information on Tarpon Spngs

I will be over in Tarpon Springs next week with the boat.
What would be the best ramp to launch at. Planning on spending a half day at Anclote Key. Any pointers on what to see while we are there. It looked like there was no dock, just beach at Anclote Key. Where is the best place to beach at?

anclote park is the best to use current can be real
strong at times at the dock but its past the idle
zone. I like to go to the north key chanel, but there are
good sand bars north of the chanel or south of the
light house, when will you be over?

As far as the current just wait for a ramp that moves the boat too the dock, it stays just fine. The dock on the island is for Ranger Chris not us commoners, either end is nice. I usually go to the southend for just sitting but the water is gettin hot, outside is the bomb depending on the weather. I don't think you can climb the lighthouse anymore and pretty hot to be walking around on the island much anyway. The northend has a bar that has grown quite a bit and there is great place on the outside as you go out the pass and hook in around the bar back to the south, very protected - great spot. By the way that northend is where the first party with Carl was held.
You can also run up the river, there is a little place just inside next to the first big marina for burgers and such - or you can go on up to the Sponge Docks find a place to dock anywhere (not real dockage for small boats) and go across the street to Plakas Rest.- Souvalki Sandwich ( Pita bread) is great with salad - great greek food. Another food spot on the northside of the river right at the bridge with dockage - american food. If you have any further questions call me, been hanging and boating around there for.... counting - holy jesus 35 yrs. Dixon 813 286 8344

An FYI - northend, as you head north from the ramp DO NOT cut the corner of the island up there, very shallow much further into the flats than you think, to be safe kinda stay near the N/S channel and hang a left out the pass it should show up on google earth.

Thanks for the info, I will be there wed-sat.
We have the SAFMC circus in Orlando this week, and I am going to need some water therapy after listening to them close the whole ocean down on the east coast.
Man, florida can't catch a break, oil on the west, SAFMC on the east... I am headed to the Bahamas the following week.

Thanks for the help, had a great time over there. We did not get any fishing in, but we had a lot of fun cruising the river and the islands.

Headed to Bimini this week.
