My Dad had one. He bought it used in '57 and it was a '55. After he sold it to the older brother of a friend of mine, the kid looked up the numbers on the car and found that it had been in the original shipment of 50 cars imported into the states for sale. Shortly after the young man realized this, he was going around a corner on Cape Cod and was hit by a speeding pick-up truck that was out of its lane. The car rolled 3 times and was totaled! The kid was OK but was heart broken. He had paid my Dad $750. for the car to begin with.
