20' Casting Platform Ideas
This winter I think I'm going to get rid of the i/o hatch and flatten the rear floor. I'm gonna make a removable hatch so I can use it for a little storage.
Im kicking around the idea of maybe losing the fishbox but keeping the anchor locker. Then again I might just keep it the way it is, my other half lays out on it and she has been hinting at a dodger. I know that the newer 20' SC's are flat up front. I wanted to see if anyone here has shortened their casting platform or gotten rid of it completely & if anyone has any pics. |
Re: 20' Casting Platform Ideas
I cut the front platform out and put in a 30 gallon bait tank and a smaller casting platform. Just finished it this summer and I really like it more floor space and the weight up front helps keep the bow down when I have water in the tannk.
My casting platform had a major crack and required repair anyway...or I would never have done it. I will take some pics next week PM me with your email address and I will email them to you |
Re: 20' Casting Platform Ideas
Trayder took the front casting platform out of his old SC and went with the flat deck.

Re: 20' Casting Platform Ideas
I want to loose the platform and extend the cap back to about the same point that the floor and hull would meet. I stand up there anyway, so why not gain a little space. Wouldn't think there would be a structural issue.
