Top Heavy Toon Boat

Thought you guys would like a little humor from today...
This was on US-1 just north of the New Smyrna Airport.
He pulled out to fast from a side street heading north
on US-1, you guessed it... NO TIE DOWNS or straps.

I've seen that sight before, more than once. Those things are harder than you might think to put back upright. Last year I used my truck to pull upright one that turned on it's side right on US 19. We had 5 men try to upright it by hand to no avail. It was still tied down on the scissor-type trailer.

Not humor so much as Schadenfreude. How many of us have had dumb a$$ moments in our boating careers? One time I sprayed the carpet on my trailer bunks with silicone spray to help the boat slide off easier. When I got to the ramp, I put in the plugs, disconnected the winch strap and tie downs, and started backing down the ramp just like always. Except this time, when I tapped the brakes as I maneuvered down the ramp, the boat started to slide off the trailer. If I had panicked and stopped, the boat would have been sitting on the ramp and there would probably be a picture floating around somewhere with a bunch of guys standing around looking at it and wondering what kind of idiot dumps his boat off the trailer before it gets to the water. Fortunately, I was able to get the trailer to the water before the boat launched itself. So I'm not going to second guess about a guy that dumps his boat on the side of the road.

On the other hand, when have you ever heard someone say, "nice lines" when looking at a pontoon boat? I guess they have their uses, but I think I'll stick with Seacraft.

There was some guy in a toon boat who was like trying to run with me in a 1 foot chop today. And he was running like 25. It had a Verado on the back. He was running with the 25mph winds and the tide, the water was just hitting the bottom of his patio. Musta been high end. Funny
