pour transom solid?
 

i just got a 18 and the guy had to re-do the transom. instead of wood and glassing it in, he said he poured it solid with resin and chop glass. i have had to drill the scupper holes and it is all solid. he said he had some helping him and he poured it all at one time. has anyone done this? or heard/know anyone who did? what are the pros and cons of this? should i keep it or scrap it?

I certainly didnt mean to make you mad, I was just giving you some more info on what has been said. It seems to be a pretty decent option although there are always people that will stick to the old tried and true methods. I am certainly considering it if I ever have to do something to mine, I like the idea of never rotting.

i wasnt mad at all. it helped me alot and everyone else by not having to repeat themselves about the same thing.

It's easy to misinterpret posts because words don't always convey the intended tone. One of the coolest things about this site is that people treat each other with respect and handle misunderstandings without getting nasty. You and Floorboy are a good example of the right way to handle this sort of thing. My hat's off to both of you.
