California Seacrafts
 

I have had several Seacraft owners come by at my place of business "Bass Pro" in Rancho Cucamonga in the last few weeks. Most are classic Potter built boats.

I have always thought that Seacraft in this area were a bit rare so now I wonder how many are out here.

If you have a So Cal Seacraft let me kn ow. Maybe a get together?

been working on my boat a bit, but don't seem to get as much done as you do strick!
Don't know why I haven't been arround for a while.

Hey Big Mike,
I'm in SD an usually put in @Dana Landing or Point Loma.

WildlandJeff is rebuilding a 23 hull down here and a couple of guys on bloodydecks.com run SeaCrafts although I haven't met'em. ave to stop in at BP sometime since my wife gave me a gift card... :cool:

There are at least two Seacraft in Long Beach CA, although both have been relegated to the inglorious task of being tow boats. One is the 1977 20cc in my thread, used as a safety/coach boat for CSULB's sailing program. The other is a Vessel Assist boat. I don't know which model that one is, but it looks very much like ours with a center console - but it could be larger. I've only seen it from a distance.

Edited to add: Oh yeah, I forgot about the one in my neighborhood, only because I have never seen it in the water. I am just learning about Seacrafts, so I don't know the model on sight like you fanatics, but it is at least 25' with an inboard and a cuddy like a Seafari. Someone who will love it needs to buy it, because judging from the trailer it has been some time since it has been moved.

See if you can get some pictures of the boat for us. 25 Seafari's are rare and it would be good to know where another one is for us fanatics. :D

Hey Strick, Did you know the DFG used to have Seacrafts as patrol boats. They would send them accross the channle in the middle of the night with just a handheld radio.

False alarm. It had been a while since I'd driven by it (and I didn't know much about Seacrafts when I last saw it) - I was going by memory. Went by it today. Looks like a Sceptre? But on the plus side, I've never ever seen it or the trailer looking this good (apart from the prop resting on the road). Obviously someone has been giving it some love and has plans for using it this summer.
