plastic vents-hullsides
I need to replace the four plastic vents mounted in the hull sides fore and aft on my 23 seacraft savage inboard. Are these a standard size? I am not able to get to the boat and measure, it is in the shop being re-powered.

I believe that they are a standard size and are readily available at West Marine.

I'm planning that now.I believe the correct vents are WM white 280800 and black 280811. I looked through the literature section and have determined they are meant to be mounted opening facing rearward. I would like feedback on this though.

All 4 of mine are facing rear on the boat I just bought.

Re: plastic vents-hullsides
forward vents are supposed to face forward and rear vents face rear for max hull ventilation.

Re: plastic vents-hullsides
Perhaps the Potter clan could chime in here?? Looking at the literature section it looks like the original pictures were all facing aft.

Re: plastic vents-hullsides
Mine are forward-forward back-back. Means nothing as I just bought the boat though.

Re: plastic vents-hullsides
Forward faces Forward
Aft facing Aft I had a problem with these standard vents getting whacked because they stuck out way past the rub rail. (I guess I can't dock very well) Anyway they had to be cut and shaved to fit  I grabbed a set of the smaller (width wise) ones. They have a flush back and glued them to 1/4" PVC board and then painted them. They are just shy of the rail now. The fronts are the same. Just another idea here you can try....
