23' inboard Restoration

Well I thought I should start a resto thread so here we go!! Since I purchased the boat off of ebay a month ago I have gutted her (deck's & transom & rails). When i purchased the boat the guy told me the boat was solid! I recieved the boat and found that the top rails where rotted to the core, then found a bunch of soft spots on the deck. So then I was looking around and put my hand on the transom and found that it had delaminated from the shell and water came gooshing out!! I kinda thought to myself WTF either that guy didn't know a thing or he's just trying to pork someone! Well I put my chinup and moved on and started this project! When did THAT happen? Details please. Why that engine, are you doing jackshaft? If so what set up. What outdrive?

I think those TDI are the ones that do not smoke, smell bad, or loud noises (brick tamland), but do get respectable diesel efficiency. Best of both worlds. Except the "price" world?

Ok thanks. Boat looks great. Keep the pics coming.

I was just curious what kind of wood you are using for the transom?

i'm using corecell for the transom. the tdi i'm using because i got it for the right price and it is a straight shaft not a jack shaft straight inboard the motor is brand new

Duh. Sorry about the bone head jackshaft question regarding the title of the thread. Guess what I have been thinking about recently. Thanks, and keep it up.
