Hatch recoring

What kind of a jackass would recore a hatch with starboard? Duh!

Re: Hatch recoring

the same jackass, that doesn't dewax, and scuff a hull's bottom, before painting it for the first time...

you would be surprised, exactly how many people have tried that...

common sense-it ain't all that common...

Ya exactly! This was adheard with two tubes of silicone on the inside skin and one layer of roven outside.
Funny this is, I went over the boat entirely when I bought it and knew about that soft hatch. He tried to tell me he did it on purpose to soften the ride. Haha how funny is that!

pretty funny...
years ago,i had a boat i checked out for a transom-it belonged to a guy in the coast guard-he declined the estimate-he had a friend in the coast guard, who worked @ steiger craft factory-they were gonna recore the transom...about 2 months later, the same gentleman brought me the boat-they cut the inner deck out, removed the core-coated everything out in polyester resin, and jammed 2x4's to hold the wood against the skin...needless to say, nothing adhered-a giant sticky mess...

there's nothing wrong with trying a repair on your own-but-alot of people attempt something way above their skill level-that's when the problems kick in...

i can't believe silicone held starboard against the glass skin ?
