Original teak handles
Anyone have or know where I can get a pair? Almost lost a buddy overboard one night last week while doing 35mph when I caught a wave from the quater & the handle split in half! He managed to stay in the boat but had swampass all night while shrimping! :D
I did a search & came up empty, doesn't seem like an off the shelf type item. I'm gonna try the Dania Beach marine flea market this weekend & see what I can find. Any suggestions?!? :D Thanks, Ryan edit: those would be the center console oh [censored] handles! |
Re: Original teak handles
I would use stainless, in the event of a lot of stress, the teak is going to split every time.

WOW a 100 views, 1 response & 1 IM!
I'm getting all kinds of warm & fuzzy feelings here. Was it something I said? Did I miss the secret hand shake? Come guys help the noobee out! How bout a randon beach pic? Spring break!!! Wouldn't some of you northerns love to be here? http://i515.photobucket.com/albums/t...mer/lat001.jpg |
Re: Original teak handles
I can't help out with the handles, but, if you had started out with this picture, you would probably be inundated with fuzzies! :D ;) :D Why not buy some 5/4 x 4 teak and make them? Most places I'm aware of will sell short lengths. Just better have some sharp blades!

I can't believe that living in Florida you would want any wood on the boat. That being said Worst Marine sells a couple of sizes. |
