1999 25 Open

Hello,

I'm looking for information on the 1999 25 Open model. Is this a reliable hull/year? Any structural issues? Are the stringers and transom composite or wood? Any other useful information is helpful.

Thanks,
RNRF

Check over on The Hull Truth. I read where someone had a 25' CC that suffered severe transom cracking under very normal usage, but I don't know what year hull he had.

Not sure about the core material, but pay attention to the knee supports that attach to the transom. I believe that the boat on the hulltruth did not have them installed from the factory thus the problems he had. This was quite a while ago, so dont take this as the gospel, have the boat surveyed and you should be good to go. Btw I think the 25 is a sweet ride!

For what its worth I just had my 1998 25' SeaCraft sink at the dock last season. The reason for the sinking was never determined. There were no breaches in the hull, no failed thru-hulls, no failed lines. As far as the mechanics and surveyors were concerned the boat just sank. That was a tough pill to swallow seeing that the week before I was 35 miles off shore shark fishing and the boat was suronded by big blue sharks all day long. That being said, I sold the boat and have since bought another SeaCraft (1976 23' Inboard).
