1988 Yamaha 175, stainless prop, tilt/trim
Located north of Boston. AFAIK, it all works. But I have only seen it run in gear with muffs and the tilt/trim. 20" shaft. Kinda ugly, other than the prop.
$1200/BRO, you pick up, or I will part it for a lower unit and T&T |

OK, it is going on Craigslist. But don't be afraid to ask me to part it out.

I have the same motor on my 20 MA. Ugly as can be but never lets me down and runs STRONG. No hour meter but I must be around 1200+.
All my buddies laugh at me and say " get a new 4 stroke, that old thing is noisy and smokes a too much." I respond "gas and oil is way less expensive than a new 4 stroke!" |

FWIW, I found about 15 years worth of maintenance receipts for it. Including a new shift shaft, head gaskets, carb rebuilds, coils, etc.

4 strokes are so much cheaper short term and in the long run...with a 4stroke you double your gas milage and you are not buying expensive 2 stroke motor oil to burn...4 strokes get longer motor life and are much more reliable...disclosure...I have used both 2 strokes and 4 strokes and will never go back to 2 stroke motors. With Yamaha 704 controls. Willing to part. Don't forget, you can get an extension to make this a 25" motor from Bay Manufacturing. |
