Fuel Flow Sensor

Purchased a GFS 10 Fuel Flow Sensor to hook up to my Garmin 545s chartplotter. What a pain in the a**. Had to get CAN et kit (listed as optional) then the wiring diaghrams from the GFS and kit did not match up. Garmin finally sent me an updated drawing via email that was different from the first two. After about a dozen calls, finally got it working. Seems like it will be a nice system but will not know until I run the boat and see the results. So this is an option to the Floscan and Lowrance setups. I'll update after I run the boat.

Re: Fuel Flow Sensor

I just ordered (tonight) a Lowrance EP-60R fuel flow sensor to plug into my Lowrance HDS-7 GPS/Plotter. Hope mine is easier than yours. We can compare #'s when we are all hooked up.

Yep, and the Fluid/Fuel level sensor too. With the network starter kit and the two sensors I should know everything about my fuel and economy situation. Gallons/hr, Fuel level, MPG, fuel used, fuel remaining, nm to go (remaining range), etc. Thanks for asking though, I would have been pissed if it didn't plug up right. Oops, hope I didn't jinx myself.

Will do. I might be able to install everything this weekend. Still waiting on one part.

Re: Fuel Flow Sensor

It works great!

Cruise = 4100rpms / 30 mph / 11 gal/hr / 2.72 mpg

WOT = 5200rpms / 39 mph /18 gal/hr / 2.16 mpg

Light load w/ 40 gallons of fuel.

P.S. Very easy to install also.
