1974-19'8\" C/C SeaCraft gas line loc into fuel tan

Is it necessary to lift up the entire center console to then lift the gas tank covering to access the fuel line from the engine to the tank?
If so, on which end of the (original) tank is it more likely to be? Bow or the stern end?
I thought it would be right under the inspection cover under the front seat cover of the console but unfortunately it was the wiring.
Replies appreciated.

Take a small hand held mirror and a flashlight and take a look. Shine the light at the mirror at the proper angle and you'll be able to light up under the deck. That's what I did checking the sending unit wire on my 18 and found the pick up and fuel line at the rear of the tank, filler at the front where the inspection plate was. If you measure back to where the fuel line comes out of the tank, you could cut for and install a new inspection plate. Then all you have to do is fish the new line in.
