Fiberglass Repair - Pinholes ?

Doing a repair on a friend's boat - bad dock rash - big voids.

Did all the structural repairs, and fairing with Evercoat Putty Glaze - still getting small voids and pinholes.

Any way to avoid this or is there a product that can help alleviate this ?

Thx..

a great product to get into the habit of using over a repair is dura tec "surfacer/primer",spary this over the repaired area,it will fill the pinholes...i use this on almost every repair...

like he says, primer will fill the tiny air pockets. Sometimes people get air pockets from how they mix up the putty. Try more of a "folding" mixing vs. "whipping" it up in the cup.

Thx guys, I will check it out. I got burned last year mixing some duraglass that did not kick right and I had to remove it, so I have been whipping it a bit more than the fold technique. Back to basics !

I have not used DuraTec, but hear it is a great product - off to their website to do some reading !

Thx
