Boat Leveler

Anyone got experience, good or bad, with the Boat Leveler trim tabs? My 25 came with them. I'd rather have Bennett, but I don't really want to spend $400-$500 on trim tabs when I have a set that works. Any pros/cons on the Boat leveler product will help me decide what to do.
Thanks,
Dave

Blue,
I had a pair on my 22' Trophy and never had a single problem with them.I bought the boat used, and I owned it for 10 years.
Not sure how long they were on the boat before I owned it,but it was a 1987 and I bought it in 97,so they may have been closer to 20yrs old when I sold it in 07.

A boatyard mechanic friend of mine likes them, and usually uses them on most of his new installations.
he likes the fact that the hydraulic lines can be mounted way up high on the transom, well above the waterline.

I put Bennetts on my 23 Seacraft restoration as it didn't have any tabs.I went with the Bennetts because I heard so many good stories about their customer service.Their customer service as many say, is INCREDIBLY GOOD.They are great to deal with.

As for Boat Leveler cust. service,I can't say, because I never had a reason to need it.
I'd say if you haven't had any problems with the Boat Leveler brand then don't buy new ones.If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Dave,
Boat Leveler tabs/motor on my '66 21' appears to be original and every bit as old as the boat. Works fine. I don't see a problem with going with what you already have. Parts for every vintage are still available. I believe Boat Leveler started the trim tab thing.

I thought I saw on Boat Leveler's website they owned or made replacement parts for Bennett. Maybe it is the opposite since I never looked at Bennett's site. all I had to do was replace a boat leveler switch and saw on their site that a bennett switch is the same just a different color combo on the wires. They had a cheat sheet to make it easy. Switches were nearly the same. No problems after the new switch was installed.
