23 Sceptre ladder

did anybody ever come up with a solution or alternative for the ladder issue - I know it was discussed years ago and when I had mine it did break and it made a big PIA difference.

Re: 23 Sceptre ladder

there was a piece of wood at the end of the hatch area that hung down - 2 little brackets and the ladder would slip into them. 2 steps and you were up on deck, without one its a tough jump to get up there and I was alot more nimble back then - bitch when mine broke

What parts do you need? Broke one of the mounts off a stringer I was thinking about having a buddy cnc some new ones. I might have an extra boat side mount if you need it. Would have to look.

Re: 23 Sceptre ladder

If needed at all, I would need a whole ladder, looked around yesterday on the net to try and find a 2 step ladder that would work and found nothing

The original was made out of a white material and folded up sweet but probaly would fail due to UV. Anything would be better than nothing - haven't looked at the boat but know there is no ladder

Re: 23 Sceptre ladder

Sigh. I have the solution.

I will have to take a picture of it. Someone on this site made it for me out of wood - and it is a pc of art. It mimics the original perfectly and is ingenious. Built to last forever and ... well the pix will say it all.

Stand by.

Personally, I did not and still do not have the talent to make this, but the design is the way to go.

Re: 23 Sceptre ladder

my new 77 Sceptre is very original except for the ladder. The prior owner stated the ladder that came with the boat was extremely inadequate, so he made a heavy duty plywood one that looks great and functions perfectly. It would be easy to duplicate. I will make a drawing tomorrow with dimensions and angles and construction details if you need it. Pictures say all. The boat came with plastic open swing hinges on each side and at the walk thru. This ladder is very rugged and not that heavy.

Re: 23 Sceptre ladder

That is certainly whats needed but I will say the original would fold flat and was a piece of art, hardly inadequate

I could care less about getting on the boat - this ain't no cruise ship - just getting to the anchor, but thats whats needed for that
