Prop Choice

Hi
I am in the process of re- powering Seacraft 23 with Armstrong transom with Yamaha 2007 4 stroke 245 HP. Can I ask advice on the correct prop choice for this set up.

Thanks Chris

Re: Prop Choice

For outboard I would start w 17p or 19p and test.

It would be nice to be able borrow either of them so you get closer before getting serious - seems like it should swing a 19 but hard to be sure

The 23'cc that I used to own had a Armstrong bracket and both a 225 and then a 250hp 2 stroke Yamaha.They both turned a 13 3/4 X 19 stainless prop very well turning 5200-5400 rpms.

i believe i am turning a 17 on a 76 23 cc armstrong floatation bracket, 2003 225 four stroke , no bottom paint 6100 rpm,44mph (yami guage) 1/2 tank ,one person. I will double check next time i launch the pitch, i have only had this one several months and was happy with what it was turning so i did not even look after i got it. It is a little slow out of the hole compared to my other 23 that had a 200 stroke on a notch transom turning a 17.

Thanks Guys for all the advice - taken a 19 x 13 1/2 and its just fine. I will fit trim tabs over the winter (also thanks to earlier advice) any recommendations?
Thanks - Chris
