20 Sceptre
I have previously owned a 1974 20'cc and a 1973 23'cc.I have alway been able to find lots of articles about both of these boats as well as the 23' Sceptre.I recently purchased a 1974 Seacraft Sceptre 20' and am surprised at the lack of information about these boats.Did the 20'Sceptre have a short production run? There are very few articles on this site or anywhere else about this model.Looking for some information about these boats.

Re: 20 Sceptre
Looks like they were the rarest of all the 20' models. Check out these links to the literature section - lots of good info there that many folks on the forum don't even seem to know about! Production numbers 79 Brochure
There is also a cross section view of all the later models in the Specifications link. Check out the Sceptre 23 Hardtop/Flybridge models! Anyone ever seen one of these?! |

Re: 20 Sceptre
I had a 1977 20ft Sceptre, it was a very unique boat. I had a 200 Yamaha on it and didn't really have any problems with the wet deck syndrome.

Re: 20 Sceptre
What is the "wet deck syndrome"
|
Re: 20 Sceptre
Hanging a newer and heavier motor on the transom, thus, allowing water to enter the deck from the drains/scuppers.

Re: 20 Sceptre
I'll keep an eye on that.Thankyou for the info.

Of course, the real rarity is the 27' SeaVette, to which Carl only admits to 3 being "officially" produced in '68. As I recall, Carl mentioned specs like 27' long, 10' beam, twin 370 hp Big-block Mercruisers pushing through MercTrans TR drives with counter-rotating SSM lower units. (DROOL!!!) |
Re: 20 Sceptre
Imagine twin bibe-o-two's! :D
