Re: 18 vs 20

There is NO difference in ride b/w these 2 boats. I've owned both a 20ma and an 18sf . . . splashwell design on the 20 is better, but I like the construction/layout of the 18 better. A bracket on the 18/20's improves both fuel economy and speed, but makes the bow light. If you want a better ride than the 18/20 you need to move up in size . . . like a 21 contender, 22 Hiliner, or 23 seacraft.

I have an 18' and a 23'. My dad has a 20'.The 18'with a bracket rides and performs just as well as the 20' but if you are looking for a better ride, look for a 23'. I don't have 50hrs on my 18' after the rebuild because we always run the 23'. All of the boats are restored potters by the way.

sweet guys ya i would love a 23 but i cant get over how cheap it is tolo run my 18. i love hoppin in it after work and go fishin for a few hours and only throw 20 buck in the gas tank. i really like the brackets but so many people say ita a waist on a 18 but i love my 18 now so i figure with a bracket it will be that much better. thanks for the replys guys this site is the best
