Thanks Strick, I always keep a close eye on this site and have gotten many great ideas that have helped me along the way putting this boat together. Too bad she is going back under the knife this month down to the stringers and transom. Shouldn't be out of commision for too long, I hope.

She looks great, Willy. Did you modify the original console or is that a completely different one?

Thanks,
Paul

Did you do the engine cover/shroud? If so, do you have any pic's of the design and construction?

willydewitt2 09-25-2011 06:24 PM

Engine shroud was built very simply and installed by previous owner many many years ago before redo. It had all kinds of extra wood and crap everywhere to make it almost fit. I did some major alterations to make it fit correctly. It was rather easy, just a bit time consuming to get everything to fit correctly. It was chopped in places and extended in others, with a rotten plywood core. It is now strong enough to stand on and fits really well. Boat runs very quiet with shroud, is more fishable, is real nice to lean against, and looks alright too. I will try to find some pics.
