The thin strip of teak on top of the console...

How does one get this thing off? I checked real quick and couldn't find any screws anywhere. Is it glued on?

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks,

Mine has four screws from the bottom side, three that I could access and the fourth inside the glovebox couldn't be found, or I should say it wasn't worth dealing with getting it off in my case. I had the three screws out and was going to sneak the teak off of the fourth screw after wetting it down to soften it up around the threads. If I got it out in one piece I would have epoxied the teak back the the screw. Mine was pretty grainy. I thought I was gonna replace mine but I was able to refinish it well enough in place so I just did that.

Ah. I quickly looked underneath the console with a flashlight and couldn't see any screws. I'll check again.

Yours looks nice. Mine is in great shape, but I wanted to get all of the teak off my boat. It's beautiful stuff and I appreciate the look. But I want low maintenance as far as that stuff goes.

Yup. I like your console better since it's taller and has more space for mounting electronics.

...

Wanna trade? ;)

You'll have to stick your head WAY up under to see them. When I refinished my teak, I couldn't see them, had to screw blindly! :o :D

I've done that before. No problem! :D

I'll really cram my big noggin up there. Thanks, bro!
