Starting a mold for pilot house
Well the boats in the paint shop so now i'll have some time to make a mold for the pilot house just wondering what I should use for mold material i've seen luan on a lot of molds whats the best quickest procedure . I also want to reuse it for anyone else that might be interested in a large pilot house (dog house) center console

i am not sure but i would think pvc board would work well and be easy to pop off when you were done. It would probably be a little expensive . what color did you paint?

Boats going to be ice blue and oyster white topside and might do the nonskid in ice blue

We made a mold using MDF/particle board with a smooth white laminate-type finish. It came from Lowe's, and is similar to melamine. Others in the forum have used it. A 4'X8'X 3/4" sheet is really heavy, but it is very dimensionally stable if kept dry and properly supported (we used 2X4s on the "other" side). Sorry, I can't find images of the mold. Good luck!
