Here's my 21 after I moved it to the marina spillway this morning to be pulled. Used the auto-winterizing feature on the E-Tec for the first time- pretty cool and very easy. Put 74 hours on the engine after having it installed on July 1st. So far so good.

Nice looking rig but my neck is kinked :rolleyes:

Hey POJ, I have a 2003 21' with a 200 Merc EFI. Just curious what kind of speed, mpg, etc. you are getting with the Etec. It's looks like it is a 175?

Yeah, I had a 200 Opti for the first 10 years I had boat- started to have continuous issues so finally got fed up and repowered halfway thru this summer. Decided to downsize to a 175- definitely lost some speed which was not unexpected but currently finding that I cruise at 24-25 knots at 4500 rpm's and top out at about 31-32 knots at 5400 or 5500 rpm's. I also lost a ton of weight off the stern as the E-Tec is much lighter. Very good on gas and very quiet too so overall I am happy. I just used the auto-winterize system too which was cool and saved me at least $200 off the marina winterizing the engine. I think some people would consider the boat underpowered but it's fine for me.

I have a 1998 with a 2005 e-tec 200 hp, over 500 hours so far. It gets up on plane very fast and runs great, but will not spin over 5,100 rpm's probably overpropped, but do not run it wot much due to the $$ of gas. Luckily for me , it does not get winterized as in Miami it runs all year. It's the std 200, not the HO type. I will get some speeds up for comparison. I wanted the 225 since it is essentially the same engine, but at the time, the $700 difference was right.

if you wanna save that engine,you need to reprop it,to get it to spin the correct rpm...

I was thinking that too.... Bad deal to bog an outboard.
