I just put a 2011 prop on a 1966 mercruiser so I really don't see a problem with your application. Also put a 2009 prop on an '83 115 hp.

If the splines fit the hub and you can tighten the lock nut down, and the prop doesn't hit the motor housing or the trim anode, it shouldn't be a problem. Dozens of websites can give you compatibility for your prop or motor.
