Looking to get a 1976 Sceptre

I'm really interested in getting an outboard version. Is there anything in particular I should check for? Not looking to take it off shore...more or less use it as a family boat.

Make sure it floats...IE: No holes in the bottom
Make sure the motor runs... IE: No knocking or weird noises!
If it is on a trailer, make sure it rolls OK:D
Finally if you have 5 or more kids, you maybe cramped!

All kidding aside, Welcome to CSC.

The only issues that are a main concern are the brass scupper tubes
that drain out the bottom. Check transom, jump on cavitation plate and
look for any flexing...
If you are not sure about anything else on the boat, just ask!
Take pictures and post any concerns.

Thanks for the advice. Here is one ad for the boat http://www.thehulltruth.com/boats-sa...-seacraft.html.

Oops. Welcome to ClassicSeacraft. But one of the forum taboos is you don't post links to Seacraft ads on other sites. Unlike the other big boards that are supported by lots of banners and links, Jason runs this site on a shoestring with income from folks paying the $25 fee for boat ads in the for sale section.

Again, welcome to the site. Just want you to understand why, when your post with the link to the ad is deleted by the moderator.

I see. Well no worries if it gets deleted. It's not for sale to the general public any more. I have it under K.
