Any one want to split a set of outboards?
 

Looking for a motor for my 23CC. There are better deals on twin 225's and 250's than on single engines (they also seem to be better maintained). Anyone interested in partnering on a pair and split them?

Found some 5 year old Yamaha 4-strokes with 500 hours for $15k total. Does not have to be that particular motor, though. Just needs to be 25" :)


Im not sure how long I will keep the boat, so I am not willing to buy a new motor for it.

I have a set of 2007 225 Mercury Opti with warranties till April/May of next year. Looking for $11,000 for pair. I have a buyer for 1 if someone else wants the other.

First off, I assume that you do not have a bracket, correct?

The bracketed 23' CC's need a 30" shaft.

I just went through the same thing, ended up picking up a 250 suzuki, mine is a re-build 72 which I think gained some weight in the re-build, I was thinking 250 might not be enough, I was convinced otherwise by people on this board and elsewhere.

I got the suzuki as one of a pair, just like you said. Definitely seemed like a better deal, and they appear to be maintained perfectly.

yes, If you have twins, they should be. I was referring to shine, it sounds like he just wants a single since he is asking for a partner to split a set of twins. A single needs to be 30" I had twin 200's before that were 25", I went from two engines to one.

Well I have the engine and another buy for the 2nd one. $5,500 for single Shine.

You only need a 30" shaft for a Single motor if your bracket is a twin. Otherwise, a single bracket takes a 25" shaft single motor.;)
