If the screen is not too small for you, take a look at the Garmin 740. It's a touch screen GPS/sounder with a built-in antenna, takes up very little panel space, and can do most everything, including radar. Mine is networked with an Etec outboard engine and the gas tank sender to display rpm, temps, fuel flow, and gas gauge functions - replacing numerous gauges and eliminating a bunch of wires. I only have the 740 and two gauges -the engine "systems check" gauge, which is essential, and a gas gauge, which is redundant.

One limitation of any multifunction unit is how much data you can display at one time. The 740 display is easliy customized and very intuitive in its operation.

It's best to play with any of these units for a while before making a decision. West Marine carries the 740.
