carpet adhesive- removal
tore out carpet from headliner, left with hardened adhesive. can anyone recommend a product to soften this for removal. I used a wire wheel, and 50 grit sandpaper. got most of it off, now need to remove remaining from corners where sander cannot reach.I plan to paint this area so need all traces of glue off.

Aircraft fiberglass paint remover and adhesive remover too..worked on the cuddy of my Seafari..I did not have my cabin windows in when I used the product though so ventilation was somewhat ok. I still had to scrape.....
Couldn't you also use a dremel etc to sand in tight corners etc? Fred |
Xylene
Get it @ Lowes or Home Depot (Ventilation is needed for sure) |

If the boat is in a state of renovation where this is acceptable, you can try a sandblaster. I read about using it instead of sanding for fiberglass prep. If course if you have a cabin full of finished parts, that won't work.

Debond? |
Back.
I don`t know what type of glue that is. It looks like liquid nails. If so, that is a problem.
Give me more info and I can guide you. Cheers, GFS |
