I was planning on using ply. But I will look into corcell. What is the best way to remove the ply without damaging the outer skin. And if I wanted to record parts of the cap anyway should I just remove the entire cap or do it inplace and just remove the rear for transom repair? If I remove the entire thing will it oor the hull easily become warped?

transom

sorry for all the questions, a little hesitation kicks in when im about to start cutting into stuff. will i have to cut back the stringers when redoing the transom?

Yes you will have to cut back the stringers a bit to make good contact with transom also use 2x4's cut to lenght for. The hull so it doesn't get out of wack also make sure you have very good support under the hull. I would cut the cap I would pull it of whole and recore that at the same time it needs it
