Doyle Boats Questions

A buddy of mine is being offered a boat that was made back in the 60's by Doyle Boats of Coral Gables
The story is that this boat was a prior version of the Hewes Boats that we know of today and the Doyle was bought out by Hewes back in the day.

I have not seen the boat up close but the pictures show a plaque that says Doyle and made in Coral Gables

Anyone here that's been around a little longer than me know anything on this boat.

My buddy thinks he may have a "find" in it

I say offer him $1000 since it does have a nice Yami 130 but the floor is soft the trailer is old and who knows what the stinger and transom is like.

I showed him a nice 20SF with no engine just redone close by (not mine) for $3500 ask price that would be a lot nicer

If the 20 ft'r has a somewhat comparable engine, he should go for the 20. Twenty five hundred is nothing compared to the cost of a trailer, new floor and God knows what else. Plus, he will have one of the "known to be best" hulls ever produced and (us, of course!) ;<)
