I/O Box Seat; What hardware was used here

1 Attachment(s)
I was cruising thru old SC pix ( looking at hardtops ) and came across this picture of a boat that had done what I was thinking of with regard to a quick install / remove seat mounted on the i/o box.

What was used as hardware mounted to the i/o box ? What mechanism lets this stay locked on place ?

I'd modify it to my liking but this seems perfect for my application.

This is a pix of someone from this site - grabbed it from the gallery. Anyone know who's boat so I can contact them and ask about the mounting hardware ?

You might be able to find something like that on either the TODD or Garelic websites. They do a lot of leaning posts, seats, etc.

Another thing you might consider is putting a padded "leaning board" across the transom coaming arch and then have a cushion made for the top of the engine box attached with snaps along the edges. I have that on mine and it works out reasonably well for younger folks, or the young at heart!

Which gallery? I didn't see a Sceptre in the 23' gallery that matches this one. I could be totally wrong but that almost looks like Metan Marine's original location in Rockland. I see swivel rod holders which leads me to believe it's a Mass. boat used for BFT fishing.

Big Lew - I'll check but I have not seen anything like this hardware - where flatbar is held in place by ?????. I'm hoping it's a quick-disconnect so I can keep the spot clean when I'm fishing - my live well goes up there. I would do some changes to recess the hardware too...

As for the transom arch being used as a backing - I want to be able to have people ( adults and kids ) let their legs hang off edge of front edge of the i/o box and have their backs supported. I would put a cushion on the top of the i/o cover with either cutouts for the backrest flatbar or two separate cushions. We're a family of four with just two seats. We'll often have another 3-4 people join us to beach-it...

Scott - Found it !!!! Seacraft Photos, page 18, 2nd one down....
