repower 23' Center console

I am thinking about putting on a Yamaha 300 4stroke or maybe going to twins. Any experience or suggestions?

repower

I am going to repower a 23 cc with a 300 yamaha and upgrade the fuel tank to 150 galllons. The current tank is 100 is only a couple years old. Boat is in Houston if anyone interested in a 100 gal fuel tank and a 250 Johnson outboard in really good shape.

My opinion.....The Suzuki uses a timing chain instead of Yamaha's rubber belt and swings a larger diameter prop. Suzuki also has more negative trim angle. I view all these as better qualities. I'm still running a Yam 2S OX66 and will until it's death. :)

I am getting ready to purchase a 100-gallon tank. How far are you away from removing the tank and how much $$ do you want for it. I can take care of shipping.

Id be really interested to see a 23 with the 300 yamaha. I have only heard good things about them so far.

repower 23 cc

I have a 300 Suzuki 4 stroke on my 23 Center Console and really enjoy the power and fuel economy. It does swing a big wheel and will hold the boat on plane at just about any speed. It weighs in at about 600 pounds so there is not a ton of weight on the transom as my boat had a pair of Johnson 225's on it. I am not too sure about the Yamaha 300 but I am sure it is a good motor as well
