Need some window weights or large rebar

Anyone have any idea where I could get some old window weights or some Rebar? It looks like #11 rebar is about the right weight to length. I am looking to make some inexpensive deep drop sinkers.I need a bunch of 4#, 5#, and a couple of slightly heaver ones. I dont mind paying but I can not find anyone who has the larger rebar in the Stuart area. Any ideas?

(the window weights are a reach but they work well....)

I've got window weights that you could have if you'll pay for shipping. I beleive they are 12# weights though. I'll double check. They were from some fairly big windows.

How many do you need?

I am interested in those. How many do you have? What is the length/diameter? Do you know what they are made of? I am wondering if I can cut them to wind up with 2 6# weights. If not, the 12s may be good for some longer term fishing I do, but I am still in need of something around 4-6#s in the next couple of weeks for a trip I have planned. Thats where a local source for Rebar would be handy.

How would filling PVC pipe with concrete work?

I have tried that, but they get too big.

I salvaged some sheet lead from a job a couple years ago. The sheets were too bulky, so I made an ingot mold and melted it down. The ingots are 16" long and about 10 lbs each. Something like this do ya?

I will try to post a photo tomorrow but off the top of my head i think i have about 18. They are probably iron and i'm guessing 1.5-2" diameter and 15-18" long with a hole on one end to thread the rope or chain through.

That sounds like it will work well. Not sure on the timing as I need to get them in my hands next week to get them cut and set up for my Bahamas trip. I will PM you my phone number. Go ahead and post a pic if you can and we can talk over the weekend. Gotta figure out how to get you some $$ for the shipping.

Blue Heron,
Those would also help. Shoot me over a PM with how many you have and what you want for them. I think you are in SFL but not sure where. Let me know, so I can figure out if I can get to you. Avoiding shipping is always good.

I might like some of those if shipping isn't prohibitive to 29407
