What year did tracker begin building SeaCrafts?
 

I can't remember exactly what year tracker began building SeaCraft boats; '86, '87, or '88-

Does anyone know?

The info would be much appreciated!

Mid 87 per the CSC timeline. All 87's I have seen are pre-Trackers though. All 88's are Trackers.

I agree........i almost bought an 88 and it was certainly a tracker.

I have seen an 86 and it was not a Tracker........so process of elimination tells me it had to be sometime in 87.

Tracker bought SeaCraft at the end of '86, after CSC had already begun building the '87 model year hulls. So some '87s are CSC, some are Tracker.
However, ALL '87 23' Walkarounds were completed by tracker, although I've been told a few of the hulls for the walks were begun by CSC.

CSY = For one year around 1982, Carribean Sailing Yachts took the tooling & molds for the 23' & 27' models only.

BTW: How did you inherit the Bill Potter name anyway :confused:

Did CSY make the hull as good as the Potter Era?? I have an Oct 1980 Sea Craft that I think Starts with CSY

Some feel CSY made the heaviest lay up of all.

The Seacraft industries per-Trackers have the heaviest fiberglass layup schedule of all of the 40+ years of Moesly / Potter / SeaCraft Industries / Tracker I have seen. Besides the layup, I have heard that the core material is plywood everywhere which is the heavier material vs balsa. You will See waaay less spider cracks in the gel coats. Our 87 18 is a tank and actually sits lower in the water due to weight. A 4 stroke on a SeaCraft Industries 18 sits lower than a Potter or Tracker, but still does fine if the plugs are in.
