32 Gal Moeller Fuel Tank - New in box

So I ordered a brand new Moeller Fuel Tank for my 18SF.
Unfortunately I ordered it from home, not at the boat, and got confused with my measurement notes.
Tank arrived the other day and its a 1\2 an inch too big to fit into my tank coffin.
Smart.
It was also a special order and non-returnable.
Extra-Smart.

So if anybody needs a poly fuel tank with sender I've got a brand new one right here.
Its a belly style, below deck, permanent tank. Dimensions are:
60.25L x 26.50W x 7.38H
Product # 032534

It can also be seen on Moellers website here (You'll have to scroll down. They list it as 34 Gallon but it's really 32).

Looking for $300. Shipping will have to be figured out later.

The previous owners of my boat , a 1975 18SF bought & installed the 40 gallon MOELLER tank part #FT4032.

I saw your previous comment on my tank thread. That's why I went in that direction, unfortunately Moeller no longer makes the FT4032.
So I poked around in the aftermarket tank section of their catalog, and found the one above. Didn't check my measurements though...

I have since ended up ordering an FT4037 from their OEM catalog, which is a little more complicated process. They make them to order and have to set up the molds etc. etc.
Anyway, I'm on the right track now. New tank should be here in 3-5 weeks.
Just need to figure out what to do with this one.
Would work fine for someone who wants an underdeck tank, but doesn't have a tank coffin.

Wouldn't be easier? and or cheaper to reconfig. your tank coffin? 1/2 inch = 1/4 inch on either end?

I thought about it, but its between 1/4-1/2 inch too wide the whole length of the coffin.
I'd basically have to cut out the entire sides of the coffin, and try and fab up something to let the tank rest comfortably and not chafe.
I wasn't really into it.
Easier to just order the right tank.
It's only money right?

Oh believe me I know.
And I work for a boatyard! You'd think I'd know better!
