Re Painting of the hull
Although I did a fairly decent job (for a total rookie) and with all the help and info I got from the "pro's" on this site, but I am unhappy with the color the hull is painted. When I pull up in the driveway each day I get the reminder and it has me to the point that I'm going to change it.
I want to paint it the original "baby/sky blue the it was originaly. I did see awlcraft aqua mist that looks like it is close or is there something better/closer? Now sanding/priming should be easy since I did the "hard work" on the last paint job and it is starting to get cool in Miami Now what is the name of the color of the paint? Who makes it (brand)? Thanks |
I believe in Miami you have a company called Fiberlay. They can mix any color you want. Plus they have a great supply of all fiberglass products.
I use them up here in Sarasota, and they are very helpful. |

Aqua mist is a pretty color. Sometimes appears more white then blue depending on the sun.

it is a nice color but maybe a shade more blue?
I wonder if anyone knows the shade/name of the original blue? |
I think Mr Potter called it "Robins Egg Blue". Awlgrip skyblue is close but a bit darker...i.e more blue.
Its shown in the 1973 brochure: http://www.classicseacraft.com/broch...ure/index.html |
Ice Blue looks nice down here. Light and subtle.

I have a Sky Blue hull in Awlgrip. It's sweet!

That's the color I want

I had my Shamrock done in teal awlgrip. The boat came out great, I would recommend it.
