Sceptre - New Dashboard
8 Attachment(s)
My winter project is to redo my existing dash board / Instrument panel.
The existing dash panel is quite small and cannot accommodate all my gauges AND my GPS/ Fish finder (Lowrance HDS-7). As shown below, I have mounted my HDS-7 on a bracket off to the side. But this mount obscures the view to some of my gauges. So I've custom designed a new fiberglass dash mount extention enclosure to accommodate all my stuff. The new face is 11-1/2" tall by 18-1/2" wide (top) and 21" wide at the bottom and all my goodies will be surfaced mounted nicely after I finish the piece. |
I like it! You just gave me an idea. On the 20 Sceptre that I'm re doing I am having the same problem. Gonna see if I can copy that :)

Check out Water Rat's dash in the photo gallery. Perhaps the "Gucci-est" dash of any Sceptre we've seen to date. :)

Now your talking, a piano hinge across the bottom and you can get to the back sides of your instruments. I know where you are coming from, had to do the same thing with my wimpy dash myself. Good luck.

77, glad to see you have your priorities straight and are not changing the location of the drink holders. Having a somewhat similar set-up, looks like you have the angle of the box correct and you will love that extra space to flush-mount everything.
Scott, thanks for the kind words and we need to catch-up over a cold one one of these days. |

Thanks! I actually did look at the dash photos of your "Water Rat" to get inspiration for my project design. Your dash is a bit larger than mine due to the HUGE GPS/Fish finder you have (Maybe it's a Radar screen?). Anyway, hope are is well with you. Did you ever get your transom job completed? Jim |
Here is a thread of my dash improvements on my Sceptre that might give you some ideas

Jim,
Transom is still in the works and and have not even installed your new doors yet; however, am getting very motivated with next season rapidly approaching. |

Is that a 30" transom? |
