Are you talking about the sliding hatch? Or is it the plexi one that you need?

fredetzel 03-19-2013 10:11 AM

Not Shure I never had one but from pictures of other boats it is the ont that hinges about 1/3 of the way back and the foreward part has a plexiglas window.
Thanks
Fred

What about doing something out of Starboard?

fredetzel 03-24-2013 10:46 PM

Starboard would be good but I am not Shure how to build the underside , and how to lock it down in the front. How do you fasten starboard together epoxy , screws or both ?
Thanks
Fred

Fred, I had the same problem last year. I made one out of a 3/8" piece of fiberglass board. It was a little tough to work with, but I wanted something strong enough to stand on. I ended up cutting it into 3 separate pieces with a stainless piano hinge with a piece of vinyl wrapped over the top to keep water out. It held up great last year. Good luck - any questions, just ask.

Zen I like the idea of being able to stand on it. Where did you get the fiberglass board? How did you attach the strips on the bottom?
Thanks in advance
Fred

My buddy runs a yard here in MA - I got the board from him. If you send me a PM I'll send you his contact info. You can also order it from places like Jamestown Distributors. I fastened everything with stainless screws and a bead of epoxy along all the seams.
