Tsunami/Sceptre Bimini - Design Ideas

Playing with the idea of having a bimini installed. I'd rather a hardtop, but too much $$$.

Any input on designs ? Or specs for isinglass ?

My concerns:

Does it get in the way with fishing ? I sometimes will snag bunker and I've noticed that my rod is all over where a bimini will be when I swing.

I want to be able to have the isinglass be as clear as glass. And, I tightly installed. The glass will only be removed at the end of each season.

Also, I want to be able to get the glass either rolled up or folded out of the way on those HOT days.

How nice or not is it to have a arch as an integral part of the design ? Whats the price of an arch with rocket launchers ?

Any advice / pix would be greatly appreciated.

This is my bimini with an arch setup. Purchased it this way so I can't tell you the cost. However all curtains are removable. I've already put it in the water twice on the cape this winter and enjoyed the function in less then desireable conditions

I have a really nice custom aluminum top from my '79 Sceptre for sale. PM me your email and I'll send pics. I'm planning on going with a doghouse center console. Steve

Al,I had thought about building a hardtop for my Tsunami when I did the resto, but ended up going with a soft top.
I have to say after having a couple boats with real hardtops and real glass windows,I thought I would miss the hardtop, but I actually like the soft top just as much.I NEVER! take it down,it stays up all year.
When we're on the water we will sometimes either fold down,or remove the side curtains,if it's a stifilingly hot day.

#all the curtains are removable
#go with Strata glass for the ising glass,it is crystal clear(I didn't,wished I did)
#The arch goes great with the top.Mine is not attached to the canvas
#I had a custom arch made by Atlantic Towers with six launchers(have since added 6 more)
#the arch cost me $1,800.00 very good quality 1.90" od.

I had the top and other canvas made from Seamark Sunbrella, which is regular Sunbrella with a vinyl coating on the inner side.It is completely waterproof and very strong.
It's been up for five years now, with no deterioration of any kind.
I had the top,-side curtains,-rear drop curtain with zippered door, and an aft curtain that runs from the top to the transom, made by a local guy who is a fireman but does canvas out of his house. He's been doing it for years and is very good and very reasonably priced. All of it cost me a bit under $1,500.00

Here's some pics,(in no particular order)hope it's some help.

Thanks,I was happy with it when I picked it up from the canvas guy.The one thing I wish I did was to have the front Isinglass above the windows made like OilFieldMans so they could rollup.
It would be a little more ventilation on those hot days.Fortunately the regular windows open.

Reminds me of my old 73 Tsunami "Entourage". Can't beat the red/black when it comes to SeaCrafts. Your killing me here.
