Heading to islamorada and key west in june/july
Would love to have a beverage or share a meal with any of yall down there at the same time... we will be in Lower Matecumbie june 29th thru july 3rd then on to Key West till july 7th... then make the journey home to the sugar white sand of home... Its always funny when you make reservations and they ask why you are leaving such a pretty beach to come down here ... lol But the runs to the gulf stream are short... and it is different than home waters.. The BEER on the other hand is ALWAYS ice cold.... Wont be dragging our boat that i know of yet... but fishing brother n laws hydrasport... maybe next year for ours... thinking a group bimini run... just not in the summer.. will have to be offseason..

Any chance you could send me pics of the interior of your Scepter? I just bought a 1979 and I'm trying to figure out if there were originally the non skid deck was striped pattern or solid. Mine is solid non skid surface except the cuddy cabin floor and the bottom of the dry storage. (extension of same area).
We stay at Safety Habor across from Caloosa Cove every year. Don't know if I'll be there when you are but have fun! |

I think Potter changed from the original Moesly diamond pattern non-skid to the stripes on the 20's about '73 or 74 when he raised the decks. As far as I know, all the 23's have had the stripes. The attached Boating Magazine article on the '73 Sceptre/Tsunami, which I think was published when the boat first came out, shows the stripes in one of the pictures. Sounds like the deck in yours has been replaced and whoever did it didn't want to do the extra masking required to create the stripes!

I'll be ther July 3 to 7 at my place on MM 87.2 executive bay
But I could go anytime now that the snow bird rentals are over |
Cool ... I think the place we stay is pretty close to there... and we buy bait almost every morning at Caloosa Cove..
|
Caloosa Cove is at MM 74.
