Twins
 
I have 78 23ft., running a 250 merc., thinking about going to twins any thoughts ? Size 140's

I know of an 02 23 that was just repowered w 140 Zukes, guy says he loves the set up

I have twin Suzuki DF140's on my Sceptre and they do very well.....but unless you absolutely need the redundancy of twins, I would stick to a single 250 or maybe a 300. Better fuel economy, less maintainance costs, less of everything. If you must have twins, then the Suzuki's are nice and the weight is not that bad.

I just went from twins to single. With less weight, the scuppers in the engine well are now above water. The big thing is the through the deck scuppers dont need to be plugged at all. I used to have to plug them all the time and paint the deck and drain channels with bottom paint. No more!
